Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor
MMP Staffing is seeking a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) to support a well-known organization. As an LGPC, you will play a crucial role in providing counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups within the organization's community. Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Counseling Services: Provide individual, group, and family counseling services to clients experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to address clients' needs.
2. Crisis Intervention: Offer crisis intervention services to clients in acute distress, including risk assessment, safety planning, and coordination of emergency services. Provide immediate support and stabilization to individuals experiencing psychiatric emergencies or suicidal ideation.
3. Psychoeducation and Skill Building: Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and skill-building groups on topics such as stress management, coping skills, communication strategies, and conflict resolution. Empower clients to develop healthy coping mechanisms and enhance their self-awareness and resilience.
4. Collaborative Care Coordination: Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and case managers, to coordinate comprehensive care plans for clients. Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and multidisciplinary rounds to ensure integrated and holistic care delivery.
5. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and professional ethics standards. Document counseling sessions, progress notes, treatment goals, and outcomes using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks and documentation requirements.
6. Professional Development: Stay abreast of current trends, research findings, and best practices in the field of counseling and psychotherapy. Pursue ongoing training, continuing education opportunities, and professional certifications to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in DC,MD or VA.
- Minimum of three years of post-graduate counseling experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.
- Proficiency in conducting individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
