MMP Staffing Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. The ideal candidate will work with a diverse client population, including children and adults, to improve communication abilities and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
- Utilize standardized assessment tools and techniques to develop accurate diagnostic profiles.
- Individualized Treatment Planning:
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to set achievable therapy objectives.
- Therapeutic Interventions:
- Provide evidence-based therapy for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
- Utilize various therapeutic techniques, including articulation therapy, language intervention activities, and oral motor therapy.
- Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Client and Family Education:
- Educate clients and their families about communication disorders, therapy techniques, and strategies to support progress at home.
- Provide training and resources to caregivers and educators to enhance clients' communication skills in different environments.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports to comply with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Collaboration and Consultation:
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, educators, and professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and coordinate care.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in the field of speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional development activities.
- Maintain licensure and certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Licensure and Certification: DC, VA or MD
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in speech-language pathology preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including children and adults, in various settings (e.g., schools, clinics, hospitals).
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients and maintain a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in using technology and electronic health records (EHR) for documentation.
Work Environment:
- The position may require working in various settings, including schools, clinics, hospitals, and clients' homes.
- Some travel may be required to accommodate clients' needs.
- Flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends, may be necessary based on client schedules.
